About

About psychosis.au.

psychosis.au exists because the education and family side of psychosis is a gap. Most tools cover the person's own plan. Almost nothing equips the people who see it coming.

Why

What this is, and isn't.

This is a plain-language place to understand psychosis, and a set of tools that turn understanding into a plan: a card a stranger can read in 30 seconds, a plan your people can act on when you can't, a way to check early signs, and a script for the night a family finally has to call.

It is for people living with psychosis, whether that comes with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, a first episode or no diagnosis at all. It is for the families and friends who notice first. It is for clinicians who want their patients to leave with something that works at 2am. And it is for anyone who wants to understand what psychosis actually is.

It is not an emergency service, a diagnosis, or a replacement for your own care team. Every page points to real people, 24 hours a day.

Non-negotiables

What won't change.

It's a plan, not an emergency service
It always routes to 000, Lifeline and the person's own team. psychosis.au is never the 2am responder.
Privacy
Your card and plan live on your device. The person controls who sees what. Nothing is collected about what you write.
Free for individuals and families
Forever. The people who need this most can't be the ones paying.
Families are in the room
Every tool has a family side. Every page has something for the person who noticed first.

How it's built

Simple on purpose.

The site is plain pages. The tools run entirely in your browser and save to your device. There is no account to make, no app to install, and nothing to go down at 2am. Everything prints. That is a design decision, not a limitation: a plan that only exists on a server you can't reach is not a safety net.

Get involved

Clinicians, carers, people who've lived it.

This is being built in the open, with the people it's for. If you're a psychiatrist or psychologist who wants to shape it, a carer with a story about what would have helped, someone with lived experience who wants to co-design, or a service that wants to pilot it, the door is open.

Email is for questions, ideas and partnerships, not for urgent help. If you need help now, the help page has real people on the other end, 24 hours a day.
